Product Description
An Integrated Amplifier Designed for the Present and Future: 80Wpc NAD C 368 Features Upgradeable Modular Construction, MM Phono Preamp, High-Res Streaming Potential, Much More
With a modular design that allows for easy, future-proof expansions and a cavalcade of music-first features, the NAD C 368 integrated amplifier combines audiophile sound, listener convenience, and user-friendly flexibility into a giant-slaying package. Made for the modern age, The Absolute Sound Product of the Year and Editors' Choice Awards-winning C 368 escorts a suite of music-streaming options – including high-resolution playback and MQA capability via its BluOS capability – into your house. Outputting a continuous 80Wpc into four or eight ohms, the ruthlessly efficient C 368 even touts a customized Hypex UcD output stage in fully balanced configuration and robust power supply to unveil the finite details, rich tones, and quick transients critical to engaging sound. You'll delight in the embarrassment of options that accommodate a host of sources. An RIAA-equalized MM phono preamplifier, powerful headphone amplifier, analog line inputs, and two available MDC slots for upgrades (like BluOS) come standard. Factor in a USB port, aptX Bluetooth support, S/PDIF coaxial and optical inputs, and a remote, and C 368 is ready for any action that comes its way.
“All [the] features would be moot if the C 368 sounded lousy, but it sounds delightful—lots of power, deep, punchy bass, smooth midrange and highs.”
—The Absolute Sound, Editors' Choice Award
High-Grade Components and Abundant User-Friendly Options
From low-noise circuits to precise volume control, to accurate channel balance and proper input and output impedance characteristics, C 368 has you covered. You also get a MM phonostage with precisely accurate RIAA equalization, high overload margins, extremely low noise, and an innovative circuit to suppress infrasonic noise present on all LPs. The line inputs accommodate all kinds of analog source components by offering ideal input impedance characteristics with linear, ultra-low-noise buffer amplifiers to prevent sonic degradation caused by inappropriate loading of the source device. A separate headphone amplifier with low output impedance and high output voltage capability also comes standard, as do low-impedance line outputs that can connect to subwoofers.
Advanced Circuitry, Hypex UcD Output Stage
NAD has moved away from the old-fashioned linear power supplies and Class AB output stages that waste energy. Its instead developed better-performing circuits based on switch mode power supplies and Class D output stages. Once thought to be inferior to traditional topologies, NAD's advanced work in this area has created some of the best-performing amplifiers regardless of design principle. These new designs are very linear over a wide bandwidth and provide consistent performance into all speaker loads. C 368's power supply is capable of 200 watts continuously and over 600 watts instantaneously to allow for short-term musical transients. It can operate with any AC mains voltage from 100 to 240 volts and provides pure DC power to all the various stages of the C 368. This highly efficient supply also provides near-perfect regulation of voltage across a wide range of conditions and provides a solid noise-free foundation for the amplifying stages. C 368 also uses a customized version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage operating in a fully balanced bridge configuration. This allows for massive power with nearly unmeasurable distortion and noise in the audible range.
Forward-Looking Modular Construction for Future Expansion: Easily Add MQA Capability, Roon Software, and More
Modular Design Construction (MDC) allows you to customize C 368 with additional capabilities and features, now or in the future. The two available MDC slots accommodate a variety of upgrade modules – including MQA capability, Roon software, 4K video capable HDMI switching, additional digital inputs, additional analog and phono Inputs, and multi-room wireless BluOS music management system. BluOS connects to your network and is controlled via smartphone, tablet, or desktop to manage your music collection and connect you to high-quality streaming music services.
aptX Bluetooth Abets Superior Connectivity
You can connect instantly to the aptX-enabled C 368 with Bluetooth, allowing you to stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device. Bluetooth can also be used to listen to other sources connected to C 368 via wireless headphones. NAD's control app allows your smartphone or tablet to control all functions of C 368. Adding the optional BluOS Module provides access to your local area network via Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet connection, adding high-res audio streaming.BluOS also makes the C 368 a single-zone streamer in a complete multi-room wireless music system.
